My Grandmother made "The Sauce" with her sisters every Sunday. If I wasn't out and about breaking windows, I was in the kitchen stealing meatballs and watching her and my Aunts cook. Eventually, I learned to make "The Sauce". Our Family made "The Sauce" with Meat, a combination of minced beef and pork. It is not a Bolognese... It's a Sauce with Meat and Sicilian Seasoning.
I have been making it for 40 years just like my Grandmother did. Same fresh ingredients, same number of stirs and the same style that she taught me.
The recipe is well over 200 years old.
Recently, I have taught my sons to make "The Sauce"! The idea is to make the sauce locally for people in our neighborhoods and surrounding communities.
"The Sauce" isn't mass produced, but instead, scratch made in small batches, frozen same day and available for sale after we finish making batches.
The plan for now is to keep it simple, keep it local and keep it coming!
